Senegal’s Soda Faye, Mame Cheikh Ibrahima Fall Faye and Khadidiatou Boiro are preparing to compete at their home Youth Olympic Games, World Boxing reported Wednesday. The Dakar boxing competition runs November 7–12 at the Dakar Expo Centre.

Dakar 2026 is the first Olympic sporting event held in Africa. Boxing will award 10 titles, split evenly between men and women, with two sessions scheduled each day.

Soda Faye won silver at the African Youth Games in Angola in December 2025 and reached the World Boxing Futures Cup quarterfinals in Bangkok in March. Fall Faye also reached the quarterfinals in Bangkok.

Boiro moved into Olympic-style boxing in 2025 after winning national titles in Chinese boxing and hapkido. World Boxing said she has remained unbeaten in domestic boxing competition.

Head coach Ibrahima Wade led the team’s preparation, including a training camp in China from August 21 to September 14. Dakar’s boxing event will feature 116 athletes from 77 countries.
