Burrow passed for 462 yards and accounted for six touchdowns as Cincinnati survived Tennessee’s late lead and won in overtime.
Joe Burrow threw five touchdown passes and scored on a nine-yard overtime run as the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Tennessee Titans 43–36 Sunday at Paycor Stadium. Cincinnati improved to 5–2 after overcoming an early 13-point deficit and needing another late comeback.
Burrow completed 38 of 48 attempts for 462 yards, with three interceptions. His fifth scoring pass, an 18-yard connection with Tee Higgins, tied the game at 36 with 1:17 remaining in regulation. The quarterback then finished Cincinnati’s opening overtime possession himself.
According to the Bengals’ official report, that overtime drive covered 70 yards in five plays. Tennessee received its answering possession, but Cincinnati forced a turnover on downs to finish the game. Burrow’s rushing touchdown supplied the final margin after a second half featuring repeated lead changes.
Higgins caught 10 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Ja’Marr Chase added 11 receptions for 141 yards and a score. Burrow also found tight ends Mike Gesicki and Jack Endries for touchdowns, spreading his five scoring throws among four receivers.
Tennessee threatened the upset despite falling to 1–7. Cam Ward passed for a career-high 304 yards and two touchdowns, while Tony Pollard rushed for 117 yards and two scores. Amani Hooker intercepted Burrow three times, and Jacob Martin recorded three sacks, the Titans reported.
Ward’s fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Chimere Dike and Wan’Dale Robinson each put Tennessee ahead. Robinson’s 15-yard catch, followed by a successful two-point conversion, established the 36–29 advantage that Cincinnati erased on its next possession. The Titans had again made Burrow answer under pressure.
Cincinnati’s next assignment is Atlanta in Madrid in Week 9. Tennessee enters its bye before returning against Jacksonville on November 15. Sunday’s result leaves the Bengals with another win before the overseas trip and the Titans still seeking their second victory of the season.
