AP Top 25 Poll Released: Miami Remains No. 1
Miami leads the November 1 national poll. Ohio State falls to No. 11, while USC enters at No. 18 after Saturday’s win.

The November 1 AP Top 25 football poll is published. Miami remains first, followed by Georgia, Utah, Notre Dame and UCLA. Indiana, BYU, Kentucky, Alabama and Texas complete the top ten in that order. Ohio State is No. 11, while USC returns at No. 18.
Where to Find the Official Rankings
The official AP poll page provides the national table and a separate Fan Poll. Check the selected season and week before comparing teams. A fan ballot or an individual media voter’s order is separate from the combined national result.
An individual voter’s ballot is a separate item. WSB’s Sunday report included sports director Zach Klein’s choices, putting Miami first and Georgia second. Those choices showed one voter’s assessment; they were not the completed national poll. A projected order likewise could not establish where a team would officially land.
Why the Order Changed
Ohio State entered Saturday at No. 2. WSB reported that seven ranked teams lost during the weekend, so the Buckeyes’ defeat was part of a broader set of results confronting voters.
Miami avoided joining that group. The Hurricanes’ official game report records a 38–35 victory at North Carolina, secured after two fourth-quarter touchdowns and a late takeaway. Miami reached 8–0 overall and 6–0 in ACC play. Its next game is November 7 at Notre Dame, giving the Hurricanes another major test after Sunday’s poll was published.
How the Poll Differs From the Playoff Rankings
The AP’s voting explainer describes a points system: a first-place choice receives 25 points, descending to one for 25th. Individual ballots are combined into the national order. The total points determine the ranking, so a team’s first-place votes and its overall position measure different things. Both appear in the published poll.
The College Football Playoff committee releases its first rankings Tuesday, November 3. That is a separate selection process. Sunday’s AP positions do not announce playoff berths or the committee’s opening order.
