Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 2–0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, with goals from Archie Gray and Jan Paul van Hecke securing a third consecutive Premier League victory after Jean-Philippe Mateta was sent off.

Mateta received a red card in the 13th minute for a challenge on Micky van de Ven. Referee Michael Oliver initially showed yellow, then changed the decision after the video assistant referee directed him to review the tackle.

Gray put Spurs ahead in the 25th minute, heading in from a corner. Van Hecke added the second in the 73rd, finishing from close range to give Roberto De Zerbi’s side a more comfortable advantage against the depleted visitors.

Tottenham finished with 34 shots, including nine on target, according to Sky Sports’ match statistics. Palace had two attempts and one on target. Spurs also won 19 corners without conceding one, reflecting how much of the match was played near the visitors’ goal.

The hosts held 79.4 percent possession and completed 759 passes, compared with Palace’s 150. Sky’s expected-goals figures were 3.26 for Tottenham and 0.14 for Palace, although only Gray and Van Hecke converted the home team’s opportunities.

The result lifted Tottenham to eighth and left Palace in the relegation places, Sky reported. Spurs had not won three consecutive league games since February 2025, and this was their first pair of consecutive home league wins since November 2024.

Palace have lost their past three league matches without scoring, following defeats by Brighton and Newcastle. The dismissal also leaves Mateta facing a three-match league suspension, with Liverpool, Coventry and Hull next on Palace’s schedule.

Teenager Luca Williams-Barnett appeared for Tottenham on his Premier League debut and created a late chance that Mohammed Kudus missed. James Maddison, whose availability had been confirmed before the game, was among the home substitutes.
