Florida Lists Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones Jr. Questionable for Georgia

Florida quarterbacks Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones Jr. are both listed as questionable on the Gators’ availability report for Saturday’s game against Georgia, leaving the assignment unresolved.

The report was released Wednesday night ahead of a meeting between No. 17 Florida, which is 5–2, and No. 3 Georgia, which is 6–1.

The Independent Florida Alligator reports that Philo has been managing a shoulder injury. He started the season’s first six games but was available only for emergency duty during Florida’s 27–24 win at Texas on October 17.

Jones made his first collegiate start in that victory, completing 22 of 35 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 41 yards, giving Florida production through both parts of the offense.

Coach Jon Sumrall said Monday that Jones had emerged from the Texas game with discomfort. The initial questionable designation does not establish that he will miss Georgia, just as Philo’s presence on the report does not confirm a return to the starting role.

Philo has completed 105 of 149 passes for 1,341 yards, with nine touchdowns and three interceptions. Those totals describe his earlier work rather than a projection of what he can handle Saturday.

Sumrall has indicated that the offense can operate with either quarterback without a fundamental change in its identity. That leaves room for different emphases while avoiding a claim that one player’s availability automatically determines the entire game plan.

Florida had a bye after the Texas win. The additional recovery time is relevant background, but the team’s designations remain evidence for the decision.

The next availability updates and any announcement from Sumrall should clarify who can play and who will start. Until then, both quarterbacks remain questionable for the rivalry game, with neither a confirmed starter nor a confirmed absence established by this report.
