KC Concepcion Week 8 Fantasy Outlook: Waiver Priority and Role Evidence

Concepcion’s Week 7 breakout followed an established role. His targets and designed touches support a PPR add, with a flex decision still dependent on alternatives.

KC Concepcion Jr. deserves priority consideration where he remains available on the Week 8 waiver wire. His eight-catch, 129-yard performance against Tennessee supplies the attention, but the stronger reason to consider adding him is the workload that preceded the breakout and the ways Cleveland is putting the ball in his hands.

Concepcion also rushed three times for 23 yards in the Browns’ 27–24 victory. That gives him 152 yards from scrimmage and 23.2 points under standard full-PPR scoring, calculated from eight receptions plus one point per 10 rushing and receiving yards. He did not need a touchdown to produce that total, as the official game totals confirm.

The volume rose without a new snap-share jump

Cover The Slate’s recorded usage credits Concepcion with 10 targets and a 28.6 percent target share in Week 7, compared with six targets and 24 percent in Week 6. It records 55 offensive snaps and a 79 percent snap share against Tennessee, following 51 snaps and 81 percent the previous week.

The increase in targets is encouraging, but that comparison does not show an expanding percentage of playing time. His opportunity improved while his share of snaps was broadly similar. The actionable development is a productive game within a substantial existing role, rather than evidence that Cleveland suddenly promoted a little-used receiver into every-down work.

Why his role suits PPR leagues

FantasyLife’s utilization analysis records Concepcion with a 58 percent slot-alignment rate and a target on 23 percent of his routes in its season sample. Those are different measures: alignment describes where he starts, while targets per route describe how often the ball comes his way when he runs a pattern.

Cleveland’s own Week 7 review describes designed touches that let him work in space, including a screen that gained 23 yards. The club’s following-day report also details his late 18-yard jet sweep. A receiver who can add rushing work has another route to touches when his receiving production fluctuates.

That usage supports a PPR addition. It does not mean every short completion will become a long gain, or that three carries will recur every week. The 129 receiving yards were a career high, and paying for that exact output as a new weekly expectation would overstate the evidence.

Waiver priority and Week 8 lineup value

NFL.com’s Matt Okada placed Concepcion first in his October 26 waiver rankings. That is an analyst’s priority order, rather than a guarantee of the next game’s performance. TSP’s recommendation is to add him in a typical 12-team PPR league if a roster spot is available, with greater urgency for managers short of playable receivers.

For an immediate lineup decision, he fits as a flex candidate who still needs to be compared with the alternatives already on the roster. The Week 7 result alone is not a reason to drop an established receiver with a dependable workload. League size and scoring format affect how aggressively to pursue him, particularly where receptions carry less value.

Cleveland’s Week 8 depth chart lists Concepcion among the first-team receivers for the trip to Pittsburgh on Sunday, November 1, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The remaining work is to check the week’s official availability reports and compare his role with the options in TSP’s Fantasy Pulse and depth charts.
