Alexandra Eala defeated British wild card Mika Stojsavljevic 6–1, 6–2 on Monday, October 26, to reach the second round of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. The eighth seed completed the match in 75 minutes.

Eala landed 68% of her first serves and won 72% of those points, according to the WTA’s match report. Her only game facing break points came early in the second set, when she recovered from 0–40 to hold.

Stojsavljevic produced 24 winners to Eala’s eight, but also committed 41 unforced errors. Eala’s steadier numbers helped her finish both sets without needing a tiebreak.

The match paired two former US Open girls’ champions. Eala, 21, won that title in 2022; Stojsavljevic, 17, followed in 2024. The Briton entered Tokyo’s main draw with a wild card.

Eala next faces Talia Gibson, who defeated fellow Australian Daria Kasatkina 6–0, 7–5. Tokyo’s WTA 500 hard-court event runs through November 1, following a week in Asia that ended with Elena Rybakina retaining the Ningbo title.
