Kentucky receiver Kenny Darby was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday after catching four passes for 71 yards in Saturday’s 34–17 win over Vanderbilt at Kroger Field.

All four receptions came on scoring drives, three that ended in touchdowns and one in a field goal, according to the conference’s announcement. His 44-yard catch on Kentucky’s first possession of the second half helped set up a touchdown when the Wildcats led 14–10.

Darby has 38 receptions through eight games, the most by a Kentucky freshman over that opening span. He also leads the Wildcats with 507 receiving yards.

The Bossier City, Louisiana native previously earned the SEC freshman award following the South Carolina and LSU games. Kentucky also announced his selection to On3’s midseason freshman All-America team last week.

The Vanderbilt win helped Kentucky rise to No. 9 in Sunday’s AP poll. The Wildcats are 7–1 overall and 5–1 in SEC play, with an open weekend before their November 7 trip to Tennessee.
