Kimi Antonelli Wins U.S. Grand Prix As F1 Title Race Continues

Kimi Antonelli won Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas, finishing 13.078 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc for his ninth victory of the 2026 Formula 1 season. Max Verstappen completed the podium, according to the FIA’s final race classification.

The Mercedes driver completed 56 laps in 1 hour, 35 minutes, 16.650 seconds. Lewis Hamilton finished fourth for Ferrari, ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris. Antonelli’s teammate George Russell was eighth. Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly completed the points scorers.

Antonelli built his victory around one pit stop. He extended his opening stint on medium tires before switching to hards, while several rivals stopped twice, F1’s race report said. Leclerc passed Verstappen late to claim second.

The result left the drivers’ championship unresolved. Antonelli’s pre-race title conditions in Austin required Russell to finish ninth or lower and Hamilton fifth or lower; both finished above those positions.

The championship moves next to the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, October 30–November 1.
