Robert Gasser Set to Start World Series Game 3 for Brewers
The left-hander has allowed one earned run in nine postseason innings. He faces Freddy Peralta in Tampa Bay on Monday.
Robert Gasser is scheduled to start for the Milwaukee Brewers against Freddy Peralta and the Tampa Bay Rays in World Series Game 3 on Monday. MLB’s probable-pitcher data lists the matchup at Tropicana Field for 8 p.m. EDT.
The left-hander discussed the assignment during Saturday’s World Series media session. Sunday’s listing keeps him in place for Milwaukee’s first road game of the series.
Gasser has allowed one earned run in nine innings across two postseason starts, with six strikeouts. He worked four innings against San Diego on October 7, then threw five scoreless innings against the Dodgers on October 14. He struck out three in each outing.
He follows Jacob Misiorowski’s 78-pitch Game 1 start and Logan Henderson’s Game 2 outing in Milwaukee’s rotation. The Brewers won those games 3–2 and 5–4 at American Family Field.
Milwaukee carries a 2–0 lead in the best-of-seven series into Monday. The teams have Sunday off before resuming play in St. Petersburg.
