Simashev Scores First Two NHL Goals, Including Overtime Winner Against Lightning
Dmitri Simashev tied the game late in the second period and scored again 1:44 into overtime as the Utah Mammoth beat Tampa Bay 5–4.

Dmitri Simashev scored the first two goals of his NHL career, including the winner at 1:44 of overtime, as the Utah Mammoth beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5–4 Saturday at Delta Center.
The defenseman’s first goal tied the game at 4–4 late in the second period. In overtime, he finished a pass from Barrett Hayton at the left post on a rush to complete Utah’s comeback, NHL.com reported.
An apparent Simashev goal in Thursday’s game had been called back, according to Utah’s official account. Saturday’s two goals therefore marked his first NHL scoring breakthrough.
Tampa Bay had led 3–1 in the first period and 4–2 in the second. Anders Lee cut the second deficit before Simashev tied it, and neither team scored in the third period.
Kailer Yamamoto and Dylan Guenther also scored for Utah. Vincent Trocheck supplied two assists. The official game record lists Tampa Bay with 32 shots and Utah with 28.
Utah improved to 8–4–0 with the win. Tampa Bay finished its three-game road trip at 1–1–1 and left Salt Lake City with a 7–3–1 record.
