Rogers and Palmer Score As Chelsea Beat Manchester United 2–0
Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer scored after halftime as Chelsea beat ten-man Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, extending United’s winless run to nine matches.

Chelsea beat Manchester United 2–0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer scoring after halftime and Lisandro Martínez sent off as the visitors’ winless run reached nine matches in all competitions.
Rogers broke the deadlock in the 50th minute. Roméo Lavia recovered possession and released the England forward, who carried the ball through midfield, passed Harry Maguire and Martínez and lifted his finish over Senne Lammens.
Palmer converted a penalty in the 64th minute after Martínez raised an arm into Wesley Fofana’s face at a corner. A video review led referee Peter Bankes to award the spot kick and show Martínez a second yellow card.
United had created opportunities before the interval. Captain Bruno Fernandes, restored to the starting lineup, shot over from Bryan Mbeumo’s delivery, while Amad Diallo was twice denied by Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders. The visitors reached halftime level but could not turn those openings into a lead.
Offside decisions also shaped the match. Estêvão Willian and Matheus Cunha each had a first-half goal disallowed. Estêvão thought he had added Chelsea’s third after the break, only for another video review to rule his finish out.
Chelsea made four changes to their starting side. Marco Palestra received his first Premier League start, Levi Colwill returned in defense, and Palmer and Estêvão came into the attack. Jordan Henderson was absent through illness.
The result increased the pressure on United head coach Michael Carrick. His side’s return of Fernandes had produced chances, but Rogers’ run and the penalty incident settled the contest after the restart.
Chelsea next visit Sunderland on November 8. The Blues’ victory followed defeats against Tottenham in the league and Liverpool on penalties in the Carabao Cup, restoring them to winning form.
