NYC Marathon 2026: How to Track Runners and Watch Today

Follow runners through the official NYRR app and find Sunday’s remaining finish-line broadcasts. All viewing times are EST.

Follow Sunday’s marathon through the official New York Road Runners app, which includes runner tracking and leaderboards. Individual finishing records appear at NYRR’s official results site.

Sunday’s remaining viewing options

All times are EST. ESPN2’s national window was 8–11:30 a.m.; ESPN Unlimited and WABC-TV coverage was scheduled through 1 p.m. The ABC 7 New York app had the same announced endpoint. A separate official finish-line stream on the app and ABC7NY.com is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

ABC’s national finish-line show runs from 3 to 5 p.m. The Final Finishers livestream follows from 8 to 10 p.m. on ABC7NY.com and the NYRR YouTube channel. Those are different broadcast windows, so the end of the professional-race telecast does not end the day’s coverage.

Follow the runner, then check the course

NYRR’s 2026 course guide explains the timing references along the route. Mile markers appear every mile, with kilometer markers every five kilometers. Timing systems are positioned at the start, every mile beginning at mile three, every five kilometers, halfway, mile 25.2 and the finish. Course clocks correspond to the first starting wave. Because runners begin in different waves, the first-wave course clock and an individual’s elapsed race time need not show the same reading.

The Bronx section has changed for the first time in fifteen years. After the Willis Avenue Bridge, runners turn onto East 135th Street and Alexander Avenue, continue to East 141st Street, then use Third Avenue and East 138th Street toward the Madison Avenue Bridge. Spectators using a previous year’s route should check the current map.

Official finishers through 10 p.m. receive an event result listing under NYRR’s published policy. The organizer distinguishes that cutoff from the later arrival of participants who still receive a medal. Use the official runner record for an individual’s recorded finish rather than treating a television appearance as a complete timing result.
