Notre Dame–Villanova Women’s Basketball: November 1 TV and Streaming Guide

The women’s Eternal City Tip-Off is scheduled for noon EST on FS1, following the men’s game on FOX. Here are the U.S. viewing details and season-opening context.

Notre Dame and Villanova’s women open their 2026–27 basketball seasons in Rome on Sunday, November 1, with a scheduled noon EST tipoff on FS1. The Eternal City Tip-Off takes place at Palazzo dello Sport, a neutral venue for both programs.

Where to watch in the United States

The women’s game is on FS1. FOX also lists FOX One as its streaming route. These are U.S. viewing details; availability outside the United States depends on the local rights holder.

The afternoon listing should not be confused with the men’s matchup between the same schools. The men were scheduled for 9:30 a.m. EST on FOX, followed by the women on a different channel. Viewers following the doubleheader need FS1 for its second game rather than assuming both contests share the FOX broadcast.

Why the opener is in Rome

Villanova’s event guide describes a joint trip involving both universities’ men’s and women’s teams. The event was inspired by Pope Leo XIV, a Villanova graduate. It combines basketball with a wider university visit to Rome and Vatican City, rather than serving as a home game for either team.

Notre Dame enters the season ranked No. 13 in its official opening-game notes. Hannah Hidalgo leads a substantially changed roster: Kelly Ratigan is the only other player who previously appeared in a Notre Dame uniform. Villanova finished last season 25–8 and reached the NCAA Tournament, giving the opener an established opponent despite its unusual setting.

What follows the overseas opener

Villanova’s current schedule lists a November 10 visit to Princeton at 7 p.m. EST, followed by a November 12 home game against Merrimack at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN+. Those are separate fixtures with their own viewing arrangements; Sunday’s FS1 listing applies specifically to the Notre Dame game.

The Rome matchup is a regular-season opener. Villanova’s earlier 68–45 win over FDU was an exhibition, so that result should not be mistaken for a regular-season record entering Sunday’s contest.
