Nikola Jokić recorded his 200th regular-season triple-double Wednesday, finishing with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in the Denver Nuggets’ 104–91 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Center.

Jamal Murray scored 23 points and Aaron Gordon contributed 15 points with 11 rebounds. Denver completed a sweep of its two-game set against New Orleans, which remained winless after four games under first-year coach Jamahl Mosley.

What the career milestone counts

The Associated Press recap identifies the milestone as a regular-season total. It does not combine postseason triple-doubles with the regular-season record, an important distinction when comparing career totals.

Denver never trailed, but New Orleans made the visitors work after falling behind early. The Nuggets built a 37–18 first-quarter advantage and later stretched their lead to 22 points before the Pelicans reduced the gap.

Zion Williamson scored 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting for New Orleans. His fourth-quarter three-pointer brought the Pelicans within five at 88–83, putting pressure on Denver to respond despite its commanding start.

Murray answered with a three-pointer and a driving finish, restoring a double-digit advantage. Christian Braun’s outside shooting also helped Denver hold control through the closing stages.

How Denver protected its lead

Crescent City Sports’ game report noted the Pelicans’ difficulty sustaining their recovery. New Orleans finished 7 of 30 from three-point range, while Denver’s early shooting had established a cushion that survived the home team’s better middle quarters.

The result followed a different route from the teams’ previous meeting in Denver, where the Nuggets had needed to overcome a large deficit. This time they controlled the opening quarter and protected a lead throughout.

Jokić’s milestone supplied the individual headline, while Murray’s response to the final Pelicans push helped determine the result. Denver left with another win over New Orleans and a completed regular-season landmark for its center.
