Michael Carrick to Remain Manchester United Boss for Chelsea Match
Carrick took training Tuesday after talks following the 3–0 defeat by Bournemouth.

Michael Carrick will remain in charge of Manchester United for Saturday’s match at Chelsea after talks over the club’s poor start, Reuters reported Tuesday.
Carrick took training following the 3–0 home defeat by Bournemouth. United are 16th in the Premier League and have gone eight matches without a victory.
The Associated Press also reported that he would keep the job for the Chelsea fixture. The immediate decision provides continuity for preparation during a difficult and consequential week.
It should be understood within that specific timeframe. Retaining a manager for the next match does not establish the outcome of every longer-term discussion about the club’s direction.
Chelsea are the next scheduled test on October 31. United now have to turn the decision into a response on the field. Saturday’s visit offers an immediate measure of whether Carrick’s team can arrest the winless run, while the Bournemouth result remains the clearest reason for the pressure surrounding his position.
