Francisco Lindor Wins 2026 Roberto Clemente Award
The Mets shortstop was recognized for community work and philanthropy before World Series Game 3.

Francisco Lindor is the winner of the 2026 Roberto Clemente Award, recognizing the New York Mets shortstop’s charitable work, community contributions and youth leadership.
The honor includes a $100,000 donation from Capital One to his SEEN Foundation, Reuters reported Monday. The foundation supports young people and community opportunities.
Lindor accepted the award before Game 3 of the World Series at Tropicana Field. MLB’s announcement described the recognition as its leading off-field honor.
He becomes the fifth winner of Puerto Rican descent, joining Edgar Martínez, Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltrán and Yadier Molina. The award carries the name of Clemente, whose humanitarian work remains central to the honor.
The recognition evaluates contributions beyond a player’s performance in games. For Lindor, it connects his public role as a major-league player to the people served by his charitable efforts. The accompanying donation gives the award a practical benefit for the foundation as well as an individual distinction for the recipient.
