Daniel Dubois could defend his WBO heavyweight championship against Joseph Parker on January 30, 2027, with the matchup being explored rather than formally announced, The Ring reported.

The publication identified London’s O2 Arena and Manchester’s Co-op Live as potential venues. Its report described January 30 as a working date subject to change, with Parker among the opponents under consideration.

That leaves both the opponent and the location provisional. A London fight should not be treated as confirmed solely because the O2 is one of the buildings mentioned in the discussions.

Dubois is coming off his second-round stoppage of Fabio Wardley on October 17. That victory completed the first defense of the WBO title he won from Wardley in May.

The rematch began with Dubois dropping Wardley after 17 seconds. Wardley survived the opening round, but trainer Ben Davison threw in the towel during the second, ending the contest at 2:21.

The result reversed the opening moments of their first meeting, when Wardley knocked Dubois down early. Dubois recovered that night to win by stoppage in the eleventh round.

Parker, currently ranked sixth by the WBO, previously held the WBO championship after beating Andy Ruiz by majority decision in December 2016. He lost that title to Anthony Joshua in March 2018 and later won the organization’s interim belt against Zhilei Zhang.

The New Zealander has not boxed since his eleventh-round stoppage defeat against Wardley in October 2025. A meeting with Dubois would give him another opportunity to challenge for the full championship.

Dubois has spoken about pursuing undisputed status in 2027. A possible Parker defense is a separate step from any future unification. Queensberry is working on the champion’s next appearance, but the reported January plans still await a formal announcement before they can be entered as a confirmed title fight.
