Bournemouth Beat Villa 3–0 to Reach Carabao Cup Last Eight
Amine Adli, Lewis Cook and Álvaro Rodríguez scored as Bournemouth won a fifth consecutive match and set up a quarterfinal at Liverpool.

Bournemouth advanced to the Carabao Cup quarterfinals with a 3–0 victory over Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday, recording their fifth consecutive win across all competitions.
Amine Adli opened the scoring in the seventh minute. Lewis Cook doubled the lead early in the second half, and Álvaro Rodríguez added the third in the 69th minute.
The Liverpool draw and Villa’s chances
The result earned Bournemouth an away quarterfinal against Liverpool in the week beginning December 14. It also ended Villa’s seven-match unbeaten run, despite opportunities for the visitors to change the game before the score widened.
Sky Sports’ match report records eight Bournemouth changes and nine for Villa. The rotations produced different outcomes: Marco Rose’s side maintained its recent momentum, while Unai Emery’s team could not turn its chances into goals.
Adli converted Julio Soler’s delivery to establish the early advantage. Villa threatened before halftime, with Leon Goretzka failing to convert a headed opportunity that could have restored parity.
Cook’s second-half delivery then beat goalkeeper Marco Bizot at the near post. That goal increased the deficit at a point when Villa still had time to build a response to the opener.
How Bournemouth secured the win
Rodríguez’s low finish supplied further separation. It was his first goal in English domestic football and ensured the closing stages were played with Bournemouth holding a substantial advantage.
The clean sheet was as important to the final margin as the spread of scorers. Villa’s attempts did not become a foothold in the tie, leaving the visitors needing an increasingly difficult comeback.
Bournemouth’s run has included victories over AC Milan and Manchester United. Wednesday added cup progression to that sequence, with changes to the lineup failing to interrupt the results.
The next round brings a meeting with former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool. Before that December fixture, Rose’s side returns to its league schedule with another win and a place among the competition’s final eight teams.
