The New York Jets placed defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat on injured reserve Saturday, October 31, and signed defensive tackle Payton Page from the practice squad to the active roster. They also elevated offensive lineman Brant Banks and edge rusher Quinton Bell before Sunday’s home game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sweat injured his knee in the Jets’ loss to Miami the previous Sunday. Coach Aaron Glenn had already ruled him out for the Raiders game on Friday. The injured reserve move extends his absence to at least four games. Sweat played in all seven Jets games this season, recording 17 tackles and two tackles for loss.

New York acquired Sweat from Tennessee in February in exchange for edge rusher Jermaine Johnson. The Titans selected the former Texas defensive tackle 38th overall in the 2024 draft. He recorded 51 tackles as a rookie, then had 34 tackles and two sacks in 12 starts last season.

The Jets were missing defensive tackle David Onyemata following core muscle surgery. Rookie Darrell Jackson Jr. has taken on more work, recording a career-high five tackles against Miami. Defensive coordinator Brian Duker said Jackson has improved his block technique and understanding of the scheme, allowing him to anticipate where plays are developing.

Page entered the league with the Jets as an undrafted free agent from Clemson in 2025. He appeared in four games last season and made six tackles. His addition supplies another defensive tackle while Sweat recovers, with Harrison Phillips and Jowon Briggs also having played snaps against Miami.

Bell joined the practice squad October 13 and has played 33 NFL games. His elevation comes with rookie edge David Bailey doubtful because of a groin injury. The Jets also ruled out edge Joseph Ossai with an ankle injury. Banks was elevated for last week’s game.
