Cameron Boozer Becomes NBA’s Second-Youngest Player With a Triple-Double
Boozer’s 18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists helped Memphis stay unbeaten, with only Josh Giddey reaching a triple-double at a younger age.

Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cameron Boozer became the second-youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double Thursday, finishing with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in a 124–103 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center.
Boozer was 19 years and 103 days old. Only Josh Giddey was younger when he achieved the feat, recording his first triple-double for Oklahoma City at 19 years and 84 days on January 2, 2022. Boozer’s scoring, rebounding and playmaking each reached double figures, the threshold for a triple-double.
A milestone in his fifth NBA game
The performance came in Boozer’s fifth NBA appearance. Memphis selected him third overall in June’s draft, and he has immediately taken a major role in a team that has won every game of its season.
Boozer shot 6 of 10 from the field and made four of his five three-point attempts. Rookie Wire reported that he finished plus-20 in 28 minutes, combining efficient scoring with the rebounding and passing needed for the milestone.
Speaking to DAZN after the game, Boozer said he wanted to keep progressing and noted that the season had only just begun. He also expressed excitement about Memphis’ unbeaten start after the franchise’s difficult previous season.
Memphis remains unbeaten
The Grizzlies improved to 5–0, while Portland fell to 3–1. Isaiah Stewart scored 18 points off the bench, and seven Memphis players besides Boozer reached double figures. Deni Avdija led the Trail Blazers with 24 points.
Memphis created separation with a 10–0 third-quarter run, reaching an 87–75 advantage with 2:09 left in the period. The Grizzlies then outscored Portland 33–20 in the fourth quarter to complete the road victory.
Boozer’s contribution extended beyond his scoring total, with his 12 assists helping involve teammates throughout the offense. The result completed a four-game road sweep for Memphis. The Grizzlies next face the Sacramento Kings on Saturday.
