Kentucky Rises to No. 9 in AP Top 25 After Vanderbilt Win
The Wildcats climbed three places in Sunday’s AP poll after improving to 7–1 with a 34–17 win over Vanderbilt.

Kentucky moved up three places to No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 released Sunday, October 25. The Wildcats entered the top 10 at 7–1 after being ranked 12th the previous week.
Kentucky received 1,185 points in the poll published by NCAA.com, between No. 8 BYU and No. 10 Alabama. Georgia, at No. 3, was the only SEC team ranked higher.
The rise followed Kentucky’s 34–17 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday at Kroger Field. The Wildcats recovered from a 10–0 deficit and improved to 5–1 in conference play.
Quarterback Kenny Minchey passed for 203 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing score. Kentucky’s defense forced a fourth-quarter interception before the offense finished a 13-play touchdown drive that consumed 6:38, according to the school’s game report.
Will Stein’s Wildcats now have an open weekend before returning to action November 7 at Tennessee. The school said the kickoff time and television assignment would be selected Monday.
