Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out 10 as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 3–1 Tuesday at Truist Park, taking a 2–1 lead in their National League Division Series.
Yamamoto allowed one run on four hits and one walk over seven innings. His 10 strikeouts were a postseason career high, according to MLB.com. He threw 98 pitches.
Kiké Hernández hit a two-run homer off Chris Sale in the fourth inning, scoring Andy Pages. Freddie Freeman added a solo shot two batters later to make it 3–0.
Atlanta loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. Drake Baldwin’s groundout scored Mauricio Dubón, but the Braves did not score again.
Sale allowed three runs on seven hits in five innings and struck out seven. Edwin Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. The Dodgers are one win from the NL Championship Series.
