Taylor Hall Week to Week as Hurricanes Recall Young Forwards
An upper-body injury interrupts Hall’s approach to 1,000 games. Carolina has recalled Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum.

Taylor Hall is week to week with an upper-body injury after leaving Carolina’s 4-2 win against Washington on Tuesday. Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour confirmed the timeline Friday as the defending Stanley Cup champions prepared to begin a five-game road trip.
Hall has five points in eight games this season and is three appearances short of 1,000 NHL games. NHL.com’s report says Carolina recalled forwards Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum from the American Hockey League as injuries opened places in the lineup.
Nadeau practised in Hall’s spot alongside Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake on Friday. That practice arrangement gives an indication of the immediate replacement plan, although it does not guarantee the same combination will remain together throughout the trip.
The Hurricanes are already missing captain Jordan Staal because of a calf tear. Seth Jarvis could help replenish the lineup during the road trip, but Brind’Amour said he had not yet received clearance following shoulder surgery. Carolina enters the trip at 6-1-1 after winning six straight games.
