The Denver Broncos rallied from a seven-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Los Angeles Chargers 23–17 on Sunday, October 11, at SoFi Stadium, with Sean Payton back in charge of offensive play-calling.

Denver improved to 3–2. Los Angeles fell to 0–5 after failing to score in the final quarter. Payton had resumed duties previously handled by offensive coordinator Davis Webb.

Bo Nix’s five-yard touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton tied the game at 17–17. Denver’s defense created that opportunity by stopping Justin Herbert on fourth-and-one in Chargers territory, according to the Broncos’ postgame report.

Zach Allen then forced a Herbert fumble that Que Robinson recovered. Wil Lutz’s 19-yard field goal put Denver ahead with 5:07 remaining. Brandon Jones intercepted Herbert on a later possession, and another Lutz field goal extended the lead.

Nix completed 16 of 27 passes for 123 yards. J.K. Dobbins rushed for 68 yards and scored Denver’s first touchdown. The Broncos finished with 224 yards of offense, Field Level Media reported.

Herbert threw for 121 yards. Kimani Vidal’s 42-yard touchdown run had given Los Angeles a 17–10 lead late in the third quarter before Denver’s comeback.
