Ronald Acuña Jr. moved from right field to designated hitter for the Atlanta Braves in Tuesday’s NLDS Game 3 against the Los Angeles Dodgers because of right knee soreness.

Acuña remained second in the batting order against Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Lane Thomas entered the lineup in right field, while Sean Murphy, the initially announced designated hitter, moved to the bench.

MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reported that Acuña’s knee had been sore since a slide in Sunday’s game in Los Angeles. The lineup change kept him available to hit without a defensive assignment.

Atlanta and Los Angeles entered Game 3 tied 1–1. TSP’s Game 3 preview covers the Sale–Yamamoto pitching matchup.
