Alex DeBrincat and the Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a seven-year contract extension worth $91 million, TSN reported Tuesday night, citing Chris Johnston. The reported annual average value is $13 million.

TSN described the agreement as not yet officially signed in its initial report. PuckPedia subsequently listed the contract as signed, while other reports also put the deal at seven years and the same annual value.

DeBrincat scored twice and added an assist in Tuesday’s 5–4 overtime loss to New Jersey. He has four goals and eight points in six games this season, his fourth with Detroit after arriving ahead of the 2023–24 campaign.

The 28-year-old Michigan native produced a career-high 85 points last season, with 41 goals and 44 assists in 82 games. His existing four-year contract expires after this season and carries a $7.875 million annual cap hit. The reported extension includes full no-trade protection in its first four years and limited protection in the final three.
