The Colts signed Darius Slayton on September 22, reuniting the receiver with Daniel Jones as injuries reduce Indianapolis's options in the passing game.

Alec Pierce left Sunday's loss at Kansas City with a heel injury, while Ashton Dulin missed the game. Slayton joins a receiving group that includes Josh Downs and Keenan Allen as the Colts prepare to host Houston.

Jones and Slayton spent six seasons together with the Giants, giving the quarterback a familiar target to work with. Slayton caught 37 passes for 538 yards and one touchdown last season, according to the Colts' announcement.

Coach Shane Steichen said September 23 that the Colts would place Pierce on injured reserve, with no confirmed timetable for his return. Slayton gives Jones another experienced target as Indianapolis prepares for the first game of that absence.
