Bears place Braxton Jones on IR before Jets game
Chicago placed its left tackle on injured reserve Saturday and elevated Marcus Davenport and Nick McCloud for Sunday’s game.

The Chicago Bears placed left tackle Braxton Jones on injured reserve Saturday and elevated defensive lineman Marcus Davenport and defensive back Nick McCloud for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, the club announced.
Jones hurt his knee during Monday’s win over Philadelphia. The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Theo Benedet, who replaced Jones in that game, would start against the Jets. The newspaper said the IR move keeps Jones out for the next four games.
Davenport and McCloud are standard practice-squad elevations. They will automatically return to the practice squad after the game, according to the Bears’ announcement.
Chicago hosts New York at Soldier Field at 11 a.m. MDT Sunday. The Week 4 watch guide has the viewing information.
