Bagent expected to start against Jets, NFL Network reports
Caleb Williams is out with a hamstring injury. NFL Network reports Tyson Bagent is the likely starter, while Ben Johnson has yet to announce his choice.

Tyson Bagent is expected to start for the Chicago Bears against the New York Jets on Sunday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Friday. The Bears have not officially announced whether Bagent or Case Keenum will get the start.
Rapoport said Bagent took the majority of the first-team practice work this week. Coach Ben Johnson declined to name a starter in Chicago’s Friday injury update, leaving the decision open until Sunday.
Caleb Williams has been ruled out with a hamstring injury for the second consecutive game. Bagent was cleared from concussion protocol last Sunday, one day before the Bears faced Philadelphia.
Keenum started that game and threw for 247 yards while accounting for three touchdowns in Chicago’s 27–7 victory. The Bears said his full week of preparation helped determine the previous starting assignment.
Chicago enters Sunday at 2–1; the Jets are 1–2. The October 4 game at Soldier Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, 11 a.m. MDT.
