The St. Louis Blues will re-evaluate forward Dillon Dube in eight weeks after he suffered a neck injury in Thursday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks.
General manager Alexander Steen announced the timetable in a team statement on Saturday, October 10. The eight-week mark is a re-evaluation point, rather than a confirmed date for Dube to return to games.
Dube, 28, scored one goal in his first three appearances this season. He has 128 points, including 58 goals and 70 assists, in 328 NHL regular-season games.
Peterson recalled from the AHL
St. Louis followed with a Sunday announcement that it had recalled Dylan Peterson from the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Peterson, 24, has played three games for Springfield this season and accumulated 19 penalty minutes. The Blues selected him in the third round, 86th overall, in the 2020 draft.
The California native has 47 points, with 25 goals and 22 assists, in 115 AHL regular-season games. The recall announcement did not specify a line assignment or confirm when he would enter the NHL lineup.
Dube’s absence removes a forward from St. Louis’s early-season rotation. Peterson’s recall gives the club another option while Dube recovers.
