Raptors beat Clippers 114–106 in Vancouver
Toronto wins the NBA Canada Games matchup.
RJ Barrett scored 20 points and Immanuel Quickley added 18 as the Toronto Raptors beat the Los Angeles Clippers 114–106 in the NBA Canada Games at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Saturday.
Barrett shot 7-for-11, made three 3-pointers and added five rebounds and five assists in 23:06. Quickley made five of six attempts from beyond the arc and shot 6-for-8 overall, with four rebounds and four assists.
Toronto made 12 of 29 3-point attempts and shot 50.6 percent from the field. The Clippers finished at 42.9 percent overall, making nine of 28 from 3-point range.
Scottie Barnes had 12 points and 10 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds. The Raptors collected 48 rebounds to Los Angeles’ 32 and held an 18–8 advantage on the offensive glass.
Jamal Shead and Collin Murray-Boyles each scored 13 points for Toronto. Murray-Boyles added nine rebounds and two blocks, while Nimari Burnett finished with 10 points.
Rui Hachimura led the Clippers with 14 points. Darius Garland scored 11 and supplied four assists. Baba Miller and Yuki Kawamura each added 10 points; Kawamura also had four assists and two steals.
Toronto committed 20 turnovers, compared with 15 for Los Angeles. The Clippers made 31 of 39 free throws, while the Raptors went 22-for-33 at the line.
Kawhi Leonard did not play for Toronto. Brandon Ingram and Bradley Beal were inactive for Los Angeles, with all three listed as coach’s decisions in the official box score.
The preseason game gave Vancouver another NBA Canada Games matchup, with Barrett and Quickley combining for eight of Toronto’s 12 3-pointers.
