“Don’t disrespect Tom Brady like that” SHARPE
Shannon Sharpe challenged the defense of Dak Prescott’s late comeback attempt after Tampa Bay ended Dallas’ final drive with an interception.

“Whatever book you reading and you got Tom Brady, just close the book. Then pick up another book and start reading about Dak,” Shannon Sharpe said on Nightcap. “Don’t disrespect Tom Brady like that.”
Sharpe was responding to a comparison between Dak Prescott’s late production against Tampa Bay and Brady’s comeback against Atlanta. Dallas lost 24–16 at AT&T Stadium on Thursday after its final possession ended with a tipped interception.
The exchange began with a viewer’s question about whether Brady’s statistics in that comeback should also be called “empty calories.” Sharpe rejected placing the two quarterbacks in the same comparison.
“I know this man ain’t mentioned Dak Prescott and Tom Brady in the same sentence,” he said. “They in different books. Not even in the same book. They in different books.”
The debate over Dallas’ final possession
Co-host Joe Johnson defended Prescott, asking why the quarterback’s winning touchdown from the previous game was being overlooked. Sharpe agreed that the earlier play had received credit.
“He did, and we praised him,” Sharpe said.
Johnson then argued Jake Ferguson should have caught the final throw against Tampa Bay. Alex Anzalone intercepted the ball after it went through the tight end’s hands with 1:16 remaining, ending Dallas’ chance to drive for a tying score.
“It wasn’t like you had been dealing before that either,” Sharpe replied.
Prescott completed 24 of 42 passes for 316 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. The Cowboys led 10–7 at halftime before Tampa Bay scored 17 unanswered points in the third quarter. Dallas’ touchdown came on Prescott’s 17-yard pass to George Pickens, who finished with nine catches for 130 yards.
The failed two-point attempt left Dallas needing another touchdown and conversion to tie. Johnson said the Cowboys would have addressed that requirement after reaching the end zone. Sharpe pointed back to the possession that ended before either play could happen.
“We didn’t even have to get to the bridge,” Sharpe said. “Y’all detoured before you got to the bridge.”
