“He looked away”: Dak Prescott recounts a cowardly exchange after Cowboys loss
Dak Prescott addressed an “embarrassing” remark after Dallas’ 24–16 loss to Tampa Bay, then explained why he wanted to give Todd Bowles and the Buccaneers credit.

“If you’re saying it’s embarrassing, say it’s embarrassing. If you’re saying it to me, then say it to me,” Dak Prescott said after the Cowboys’ loss to Tampa Bay.
The Dallas quarterback was asked about an exchange with someone who had described the performance as embarrassing. In an excerpt aired on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio Tonight, Prescott said the person looked away when he turned toward him, then spoke again when Prescott turned his head back.
“Just as a man or as just a person, feel free to speak your mind. Just speak it,” Prescott said.
He said he wanted the comment directed to him, adding that he hated that the exchange was being discussed.
Tampa Bay beat Dallas 24–16 at AT&T Stadium on October 8 for its first win of the season. Prescott was then asked whether losing at home to a previously winless team, following the Cowboys’ win the previous week, made this an embarrassing loss.
“I feel like I’m discrediting the NFL if I use that,” Prescott said.
His answer singled out the Buccaneers and Todd Bowles. Prescott credited Bowles’ work as a head coach and defensive coordinator, as well as Tampa Bay’s plan that night.
“Guy’s been a winning coach for a long time,” Prescott said.
He still made clear what he had expected from Dallas: “We’re definitely supposed to win this game.”
