Cam Heyward won’t apologize for Steelers sideline outburst
The Pittsburgh defensive captain defended his reaction during the loss in Cleveland, saying teammates should be able to challenge one another.

“I’m not going to apologize for that. That’s part of the game,” Cam Heyward said of his sideline outburst during Pittsburgh’s loss to Cleveland, in comments reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and published October 8 by NFL.com.
The Steelers defensive captain was shown shouting at teammates during the 27-24 Week 4 defeat. Heyward said frustration reflected the standards players expect of themselves and that several aspects of the game had bothered him.
He defended direct conversations between teammates, saying players should hold one another accountable even when those discussions are uncomfortable.
Cleveland scored 21 second-quarter points for a 21–10 halftime lead. Pittsburgh scored twice in the fourth quarter but finished three points behind the Browns.
T.J. Watt also had an animated headset exchange with defensive coordinator Patrick Graham during the loss.
Coach Mike McCarthy separately regretted the language he used during a sideline exchange with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to NFL.com’s account.
Pittsburgh was preparing to host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.
