Tomas Hertl had two goals and two assists, and Jack Eichel added a goal and three assists as the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Seattle Kraken 6-2 at Climate Pledge Arena on Tuesday, October 6.
Victor Olofsson scored twice and Mark Stone added a goal and an assist for Vegas, which led 5-0 after two periods. Carter Hart finished with 25 saves.
Hertl scored on the power play at 15:58 of the first period and again at 9:43 of the third. Stone’s short-handed goal made it 3-0 early in the second, and Eichel scored on a breakaway at 19:29 of that period.
Shane Wright and Jared McCann scored for Seattle in the third. Joey Daccord allowed five goals on 21 shots before Philipp Grubauer replaced him for the final period and made six saves, as recorded in the official final game record.
Olofsson left after a boarding hit by Ben Meyers at 8:03 of the third. Meyers received a five-minute major and a game misconduct. NHL.com reported that Vegas coach Ryan Craig said Olofsson was being evaluated after the game.
