The Seattle Seahawks decided against signing running back Joe Mixon to their practice squad after he underwent a physical, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.

Coach Mike Macdonald had said Monday that Seattle was “going through the process” of adding Mixon after a tryout.

Mixon, 30, missed the entire 2025 season with a foot injury and was released by Houston in March. He made the Pro Bowl during his 2024 season with the Texans, his fifth season with at least 1,000 rushing yards.

Seattle placed first-round rookie Jadarian Price on injured reserve with a chest injury Saturday. Emanuel Wilson ran for 81 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 30-23 win over the Chargers, with George Holani also in the backfield.

The Seahawks announced Tuesday that they signed Robert Henry Jr. off Washington’s practice squad to their active roster.

Updated October 6: This story has been updated to reflect the report that Seattle decided against signing Mixon and the addition of Henry.
