McVay credits defense, Sirianni takes blame for fourth-down call
Sean McVay praised the Rams’ defensive stops after a 24–20 comeback win. Nick Sirianni accepted responsibility for the failed fourth-and-goal attempt that preceded Los Angeles’ 98-yard touchdown drive.

“I can’t say enough about our defense, keeping us in that football game, getting stop after stop,” Sean McVay said after the Rams’ 24–20 comeback win over the Eagles on Sunday.
Los Angeles trailed 20–10 when Philadelphia went for fourth-and-goal from the Rams’ 2-yard line with 7:31 remaining. Jalen Hurts’ incomplete pass gave the Rams possession, and they drove 98 yards for Kyren Williams’ one-yard touchdown run with 3:59 remaining.
McVay also credited his blockers for handling Philadelphia’s pass rush as the offense recovered in the fourth quarter. “I thought our offensive line was outstanding.”
Nick Sirianni said he went for the touchdown to make it a three-possession game. A field goal would have extended the lead to 13 points; failing on fourth down left the Rams backed up at their own 2.
“You go for it and you don’t get it, that’s on the head coach. We didn’t get it, so that’s on me,” Sirianni said.
Williams’ 7-yard touchdown run with 1:10 left put Los Angeles ahead. Philadelphia finished 0-for-12 on third down.
