Zach Edey returns to camp after two ankle operations
Memphis has cleared Edey for full-court work and expects him to be ready for its October 21 opener against Utah.

Zach Edey has returned to full-court work after ankle problems limited him to 11 games last season. The Grizzlies expect him to be ready for their October 21 opener against Utah, although that remains a team expectation.
General manager Zach Kleiman confirmed Edey’s clearance at Monday’s media day, according to the Associated Press.
The 7-foot-4 center had surgery on his left ankle in June 2025. A stress reaction interrupted his return in December, and another operation followed in March to address continuing pain and bone stress.
“I feel more athletic than I did last year already,” Edey told the AP.
He averaged 13.6 points and 11.1 rebounds while shooting 63 percent in those 11 appearances. Memphis finished 25-57.
