Travis Konecny scored a goal and added an assist in his return from a lower-body injury as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Utah Mammoth 6–3 on Sunday, November 1, at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Konecny had missed 10 games before being activated from injured reserve earlier Sunday. Owen Tippett also returned after missing six games with an upper-body injury. Before the game, coach Rick Tocchet said neither forward would have restrictions on his ice time.

The returns restored two experienced forwards to a team that had started the season 3–8–4. Konecny had led Philadelphia in scoring in six of the previous seven seasons. Tippett led the Flyers with 28 goals last season and entered Sunday with a goal and an assist in nine appearances. Konecny is also an alternate captain for the club.

Konecny’s first goal of the season came when his attempted pass toward Christian Dvorak went off Utah defenseman Artem Duda and into the net. He later found Dvorak in the slot for another goal early in the third period, helping Philadelphia build its advantage.

The Flyers reached a season high in goals and ended a three-game losing streak. Noah Cates and Dvorak each finished with a goal and an assist, while Dan Vladar made 19 saves. Philadelphia won for the first time in five meetings with Utah.

The Mammoth threatened late through goals from Mikhail Sergachev and Logan Cooley, reducing Philadelphia’s lead to two. Cole Knuble scored into an empty net with 1:34 remaining to secure the result and give the Flyers their fourth victory in 16 games.

Konecny’s two points marked his 128th game with multiple points for Philadelphia, moving him past Tocchet into 14th on the franchise list, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. The Flyers next host Minnesota on Tuesday, November 3, at 7 p.m. EST.
