Jets Recall Brayden Yager After Nine Points in Six AHL Games
Winnipeg brings the 21-year-old forward back to the NHL and places Josh Morrissey on injured reserve.
The Winnipeg Jets recalled Brayden Yager from the Manitoba Moose on Monday after the forward produced five goals and four assists in his first six AHL games this season. Winnipeg also placed defenseman Josh Morrissey on injured reserve, retroactive to Oct. 7.
Yager, 21, is joining the Jets for their trip to St. Louis and could make his season debut Tuesday against the Blues. He was Winnipeg’s final cut at the end of training camp, according to the Winnipeg Free Press, and now returns after a productive opening stretch with Manitoba.
The Saskatoon native made his NHL debut last season, appearing in three games without a point. Pittsburgh selected him 14th overall in the 2023 draft before trading him to Winnipeg in August 2024 for Rutger McGroarty.
The recall gives Yager another opportunity to establish himself in Winnipeg’s forward group. A place in Tuesday’s lineup had not been confirmed in the recall reports.
