Kawhi Leonard is expected to make his Toronto Raptors preseason debut Tuesday against the New York Knicks after coach Darko Rajakovic said Monday that he will be available.
Leonard took part in a full practice Monday, Rajakovic told reporters, according to Sportsnet. The coach did not announce how many minutes Leonard would play.
The game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Mountain Time at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ will carry the broadcast.
Toronto has brought Leonard along gradually since completing his acquisition from the Los Angeles Clippers in September. His appearance would be his first for the Raptors since helping the franchise win its 2019 NBA championship.
“I feel good. Being smart, taking it slow,” Leonard told reporters Monday, according to TSN. He said he was learning Toronto’s plays and getting to know the coaches as he prepares to play again.
The Raptors have three preseason games remaining before opening their regular season against the Chicago Bulls on October 21.
