Wil Lutz kicked a 53-yard field goal with 4:53 remaining in overtime to give the Denver Broncos a 17–14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, after Denver surrendered an 11-point fourth-quarter lead.

Ja’Quan McMillian set up the winning kick by intercepting Sam Darnold on Seattle’s opening overtime possession. His takeaway gave Denver the ball at the Seahawks’ 43-yard line, and the Broncos gained eight yards before turning to Lutz.

Denver improved to 4–2 despite being outgained 353–168. Its defense forced three turnovers and sacked Darnold five times, supplying the decisive plays on a night when the Broncos’ offense stalled after halftime.

Seattle trailed 14–3 entering the fourth quarter but pulled within three when George Holani scored on a one-yard run with 5:41 remaining. Darnold then connected with Rashid Shaheed for the two-point conversion.

The Seahawks’ comeback appeared to stall when Kris Abrams-Draine intercepted Darnold with 1:25 left. Denver could not run out the clock, however, and Shaheed’s 31-yard punt return gave Seattle possession at its own 46 with 57 seconds remaining.

Darnold moved the Seahawks into field-goal range, including a 17-yard completion to Cooper Kupp. Jason Myers converted from 34 yards with three seconds left to tie the game, completing an 11-point rally that forced overtime.

Denver had built its advantage on consecutive second-quarter touchdown drives. J.K. Dobbins finished a 16-play, 74-yard possession with a four-yard scoring run, and RJ Harvey later took a direct snap into the end zone from a yard out to cap a nine-play, 79-yard drive.

The Broncos protected that lead with pressure and takeaways. Nik Bonitto forced Shaheed to fumble late in the first half, with Justin Strnad recovering. In the third quarter, Jonah Elliss’ sack pushed Seattle back before Myers missed a 47-yard field goal. Myers had opened the scoring with a 55-yarder.

Denver punted on its first six possessions after halftime, allowing Seattle repeated opportunities to get back into the game. McMillian’s interception finally gave the Broncos the short field they needed to finish it.
