Jared McCann Misses Wild Game With Lower-Body Injury; Kraken Recall Jani Nyman
Seattle said McCann was being evaluated; a later report placed him on injured reserve.

Jared McCann was unavailable for Seattle’s October 24 game against Minnesota while being evaluated for a lower-body injury. The Kraken announced his absence and recalled forward Jani Nyman from AHL affiliate Coachella Valley, according to the club statement reproduced by Jatkoaika.
RotoWire reported that McCann had three goals, eight points, 28 shots on goal and six hits through 11 appearances this season.
A later RotoWire update, citing the NHL’s media site, said Seattle placed McCann on injured reserve Saturday. That report said he would also miss Wednesday’s game against Toronto. It did not establish an exact return date.
Nyman arrives after scoring nine goals and adding two assists in nine games for Coachella Valley. Jatkoaika reported that the 22-year-old was leading the AHL in goals and had played 40 NHL games across the previous two seasons.
Despite that NHL experience, Nyman had not played for Seattle this season after training camp, according to Jatkoaika.
