Darius Acuff Jr. Sets Kings’ Single-Game Teenager Record With 33 Points
The 19-year-old reached the franchise mark in Sacramento’s loss to Portland on Friday.

Darius Acuff Jr. scored 33 points against Portland on October 23, setting Sacramento’s single-game scoring record for a teenager. Kings on SI’s report cited the NBA’s announcement of the milestone for the 19-year-old rookie.
The Kings lost 128-120 in Acuff’s home debut at Golden 1 Center. Sacramento fell to 0-2 despite his team-high scoring total, The Sacramento Bee reported. Both of his made 3-pointers came during the fourth-quarter comeback attempt.
Acuff finished with 10 baskets on 26 attempts, including 2-for-11 shooting from three, and made 11 of 12 free throws. He also supplied four assists and two rebounds in 37 minutes, according to RotoWire’s game summary.
Sacramento had led by 12 in the opening quarter and held a five-point halftime advantage before Portland moved ahead in the second half. A Domantas Sabonis 3-pointer cut the deficit to 121-118 with 3:21 remaining, but the Kings did not finish the rally.
The record is specific to teenagers in Kings franchise history. It does not make Acuff the franchise’s overall single-game scoring leader.
