Patrick Kane Expected to Miss Next Couple of Games With Upper-Body Injury
The Blackhawks forward left Monday’s game against Colorado in the second period. Jeff Blashill expects him to miss the next couple of games.

Patrick Kane is expected to miss the Chicago Blackhawks’ next couple of games with an upper-body injury, coach Jeff Blashill said after Monday’s 5–2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Kane left the November 2 game at United Center after his final shift at 14:53 of the second period and did not return, according to NHL.com’s report. Blashill said the forward was “going to miss the next couple of games, for sure.”
The 37-year-old has one goal and eight assists in 15 appearances this season. His eight assists lead Chicago, and his nine points rank second on the team. He is averaging 18:02 of ice time, third among Blackhawks forwards.
Kane returned to Chicago on a two-year, $16 million contract signed June 23. The first overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup in 2010, 2013 and 2015 before later playing for the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings.
He has 1,409 points, including 509 goals and 900 assists, in 1,384 career games. Kane reached 900 assists Saturday against Boston, becoming the first United States-born player and 21st player overall to reach the mark.
Blashill’s postgame update established a short-term absence but did not provide a confirmed return date or a more specific diagnosis.
