The NFL and Ticketmaster have announced a multiyear agreement introducing Open Distribution, a resale system designed to let eligible season-ticket holders list a ticket once and offer it through participating marketplaces.

Under the October 21 announcement, authorized secondary marketplaces will gain access to eligible season-ticket resale inventory across all 32 NFL teams. Sellers would no longer need separate listings on each participating platform to reach those buyers.

Ticketmaster will remain the NFL’s exclusive platinum secondary ticketing partner and continue operating the NFL Ticket Exchange. The agreement therefore expands distribution while preserving its existing role in the league’s ticketing system.

The NFL Ticket HQ network also includes licensed channels SeatGeek, Sports Illustrated Tickets and Tixr, according to Ticketmaster.

The announcement does not promise lower ticket prices or universal eligibility for every listing. Its stated change is where qualifying resale inventory can appear and how sellers distribute it. Fans comparing options will still need to check the individual game, available seats and final purchase terms on their chosen marketplace.
