2026 Gold Glove Awards Tonight: Finalists, Start Time and How to Watch

The 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners will be announced Sunday, November 1, on ESPN. The special edition of Baseball Tonight starts at 8:30 p.m. EST and is scheduled for one hour, according to Rawlings.

When and Where to Watch

ESPN carries the announcement show. Check that the television or streaming package you use includes that channel; this listing does not establish access through a separate subscription. The winners had not been announced when this guide was prepared Sunday afternoon.

Which Finalists Are in Contention?

The official finalists list includes three players at each position in each league, including utility. Toronto and the Chicago Cubs lead their respective leagues with five finalists apiece. Twenty-two finalists have previously won a Gold Glove.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is nominated in National League center field, alongside Michael Harris II and Andy Pages. The American League shortstop finalists are Andrés Giménez, Taylor Walls and Bobby Witt Jr. A nomination identifies the remaining contenders rather than announcing a winner.

How the Winners Are Selected

Rawlings’ voting rules describe an award for fielding performance, excluding offensive production. Managers and coaches vote within their own league and cannot select their own players. Outfield voting distinguishes left, center and right field, rather than choosing three interchangeable outfielders.

The SABR Defensive Index combines defensive measurements drawn from batted-ball locations and play-by-play records. Those inputs include Statcast, Sports Info Solutions and STATS Perform data. Its roughly 25% contribution accompanies the managers’ and coaches’ votes, rather than replacing them.

Rawlings’ explanation says the index considers skills beyond recording errors: throwing accuracy, range, double plays, handling bunts and position-specific responsibilities. Catchers’ blocking and control of the running game also matter. A positive index value indicates above-average performance relative to that position.

What Comes After Gold Glove Night?

The separate Platinum Glove fan ballot opens at 9:30 p.m. EST. Fans choose among the league’s Gold Glove winners, with SABR’s index also contributing to that honor. Voting closes November 5 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
