Ben Shelton Beats Cameron Norrie to Reach the Paris Masters Third Round
Shelton won 6–3, 6–4 and will face Mattia Bellucci or Arthur Rinderknech in the last 16.

Ben Shelton beat Cameron Norrie 6–3, 6–4 at the Paris Masters on Tuesday to reach the third round, where he will face Mattia Bellucci or Arthur Rinderknech.
The third-seeded American won his opening match after receiving a first-round bye. The official ATP results list the contest in the round of 32, putting Shelton into the last 16.
Shelton had lost his only previous meeting with Norrie in Cincinnati. Tuesday’s victory reversed that result as the American continued his preparation for the ATP Finals, for which he has already qualified.
Norrie had reached the second round by beating Matteo Arnaldi 6–4, 1–6, 6–3. His Paris singles run ended against Shelton.
Speaking on court, Shelton praised the French crowd’s energy and the atmosphere, according to Tennis Majors’ report. He also credited Norrie’s quality after their earlier meeting.
Bellucci and Rinderknech are scheduled to play Wednesday. Their winner will determine Shelton’s next opponent; Shelton’s straight-sets victory has secured a third-round place, rather than a quarterfinal berth.
