ATP Finals 2026: Who Has Qualified and Why Paris Matters
The ATP Finals’ official player page lists Zverev, Alcaraz, Shelton and Medvedev. Qualification, participation and the eventual group draw are separate decisions.

Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton and Daniil Medvedev appear on the ATP Finals’ official singles-player page as of November 1. The season-ending tournament runs November 15–22 at Inalpi Arena in Turin. Its field is determined through the season-long Race to Turin, rather than by winning a single qualifying tournament.
Why the Paris Masters matters
Paris is the final Masters 1000 tournament before Turin. In the organizer’s November 1 interview, sixth seed Arthur Fils was described as still in contention for the season finale. His situation shows why Paris matters to players whose participation is not yet confirmed. Fils had retired from his Basel quarterfinal and said he had received treatment before a planned on-court test Sunday. He was preparing for his home tournament while managing that physical uncertainty.
Jannik Sinner will not defend his Turin title because his season has ended with a knee injury, the Paris organizers said in their updated entry list. Qualification and medical availability therefore remain separate questions when reading the eventual tournament lineup.
What happens once the field is set?
The event overview describes an eight-player singles tournament in which each participant plays three group matches. Unlike the Paris draw, one defeat does not automatically eliminate a player. Results across the group determine who reaches the knockout stage.
Under the published format, players are divided into two groups of four. Each group’s winner faces the other group’s runner-up in the semifinals. Singles matches, including the final, use the best-of-three-set format. If players finish level, the rules use criteria including match wins, matches played and the applicable head-to-head or percentage comparisons.
The qualification race and those group-stage tiebreakers answer different questions. The Race decides access to the season finale; the group results decide advancement once it begins. Use the official player page for confirmed participants and the tournament rules for the later competition, rather than applying a projected Paris draw as a guaranteed route into Turin.
